Fire Station 21

San Mateo, California

Fire Station #21 is the headquarters for the San Mateo Fire Department.  The historic building is located in downtown San Mateo.  The historical façade of the 1920’s building was preserved while the interiors were renovated to accommodate the functions of the department headquarters.  The landscape design was developed to reflect the Mission Revival style of the building.

ABLA provided site work and landscape design including:  hardscape and softscape layout, lighting layout, streetscape planting and irrigation, and urban amenities.  Scope of services included schematic design through construction observation.
